Project #1 - Braitenberg Bugs


Materials:
  • select two matched CdS photoresistors
  • select two complementary R2 potentiometers
  • 2 - TIP 102 power transistors
  • SIP sockets for photresistors and potentiometers
  • 1 - 9 VDC battery
  • 2 - DC motors
  • 2 - DPDT switches
  • solid core copper wire
  • small perf board for the chassis
  • snap ties to mount motors
  • wheels (optional, make them small)
Report:
  • measure and record the resistance of the CdS photoresistors
    • in total darkness, and
    • in full light
  • compute Vout estimate given your circuit in both light and dark conditions
  • measure Rmotor
  • demonstrate your photovore
  • evaluate its performance, are there obvious improvements you can consider?
